Happy hitchhiker

I had a world of luck today.  After I said my goodbyes to Bill I went to the main road to catch a bus.  As the first bus that came was full I didn't want to bother standing around till the next bus came along.  I stuck out my thumb and started walking north.

It wasn't before someone stopped and gave me a lift.  The guy that picked me up didn't stop talking on his phone for the first 15 minutes of our journey.  Eventually he asked me where I was going.  I told him my plan for the day was to get to Phnom Rung, but I'd be happy wherever he dropped me.  He wouldn't hear of it.  For the rest of the morning and most of the afternoon he drove me around to the sights I'd like to see,Tao  Phanom Rung and Prasat Muang Tam.

When we finished our travels he introduced me to his sister.  Being married to and Assie and having lived there for seven years she could speak perfect English.  It was interesting learning about religion and rice production in Thailand.  The family are big rice agents in the area.  They are also big into cock fighting.

A double geocaching fail!
