Finally leaving Nong Khai

Finally, finally, finally I left Nong Khai today.  I spent a lot of time in this town.  After leaving it didn't leave much of an impression on me.  It's a nice place but I don't have to go back there.


It took me a better part of the day to get to Chiang Khan.  This is a very relaxed town with not much to do.  The scenery along the Mekong makes this Bohemian town seem to take a slower pace.


In the evening I met some older Thai gents up from Udon Thani for the day.  They were great fun to chat to over a cold beer as the the sun was setting.
