The Beginning of Rama
Around 4am I was up to catch a bus to the
ancient capital of Bagan. This is
Myanmar’s equivalent of Cambodia’s Angkor.
I was fortunate to share a taxi with Rama, an Argentinean (the second
I’d met in more than a year of travelling) who had travelled to many of the
same places I had. Before that he was
working in Barcelona. We share a similar
laziness (as I see it) and travelling style and so became good friends very
quickly. I enjoyed his company immensely
over the 12 days that we travelled together.
We arrived in Bagan and met an Andorran
couple (the first Andorran I had ever met) and Simona, an Italian lady who does
a lot of good in this world. She is an
inspiration. We sorta formed a posy for
a few days in Bagan. That evening we
went to see the sunset from a quiet temple.
